"NBA At MBA"
After the NBA lockout during the year of 2011, millions of fans were affected worldwide. This was the fourth lockout in National Basketball Association history! It lasted 161 days in counting, beginning on July 1, ending on December 8. Basketball fans, coaches and even players were affected money wise, including entertainment wise all over the world. Even people not too associated were affected, such as people who worked on the stadiums, for the teams, and anyone who was involved somewhat. While there was no NBA on TV, here at metropolitan, students participated in their own basketball games in the gym of the school. With the NBA lockout finally over after a long 161days, fans and other participants can finally enjoy basketball on the television or at their own court of choice. After going through a few interviews, people described the situation as bad and shocking. One student says how they would do work while watching the game, and have something to talk about the next day, but with the lockout this could not happen. The whole idea of the lockout was to gain back millions of dollars because it is so expensive to keep going. Numerous teams and players lost millions for not being able to engage in game time during the 161 days. Now that basketball is back, people can get back to their routines and having the NBA back in their life, while others will get back all of the money they work for associated with the National Basketball Association.
